Why do seamless gutters in St. Louis hold up better than sectional ones?
Because most gutter problems start at a joint. Sectional gutters arrive in fixed lengths and get pieced together with sealant. Sealant dries out, lets go, and water starts dripping behind the gutter and onto the fascia board. You do not notice it from the street. You notice it two years later, when the paint peels and the wood behind it feels soft.
Seamless gutters take that failure point out. Each side of the roof gets a single length of aluminum, with metal-to-metal connections only at the corners and the outlets. How often should gutters be cleaned?
At least twice a year for most homes: once in late fall, after the leaves come down, and once in spring. A house under large trees usually needs it more often.
What do gutters do?
They catch the rain that runs off the roof and carry it to the downspouts, so it lands away from the foundation, the siding, the walkways and the flower beds instead of pouring down the side of the house.
Do I need gutters on my house?
